What is Universe?

Universe is an all-in-one political campaign platform built in local campaign offices, for local organizers.

Campaign tech has evolved to be fragmented, expensive, and built for large campaigns with dedicated IT teams. Universe is built exclusively for down-ballot campaigns, local organizations, and first-time candidates, giving them access to all of the modern tooling they need to run their campaign – even without a large budget or an in-house tech team.

Where are we going?

Our mission is to empower communities to create progressive, equitable, and just systems from the ground up. We’re building towards a fully integrated campaign platform experience that will empower progressive organizers at every level and in every community.

We’re already working with the best organizers and ecosystem partners in the business, who understand and share our vision of a stronger grassroots progressive movement.

In the next year we plan to expand support for Universe to over 1,000 local and down-ballot campaigns across the country. We’re on a mission to ensure that every organizer who needs it is able to access critical tooling for their campaign. That’s where you come in!

What you will do here

We’re looking for someone with experience in grassroots organizing to be the first point of contact and internal champion for the progressive campaigns and organizations that Universe supports.

You will be the face of Universe to our clients, responsible for overseeing Universe's relationship with the 300+ progressive campaigns and organizations we are supporting so far and those we will support in the future.

You will work with the down-ballot progressive campaigns and organizations that use Universe to ensure they are supported and confident, and have access to the resources they need to run an effective campaign.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries from prospective clients and demonstrate the capabilities of the tool to interested organizers as needed
  • Onboard new organizer clients to the platform and conduct any necessary training
  • Act as a resource to down-ballot organizers throughout initial inquiry and demo, assessment of the platform, contract signing, onboarding and training, and throughout customer support lifecycle
  • Negotiate contracts with organizer clients to establish terms of engagement with Universe
  • Work with clients of Universe to ensure that they are able to achieve meaningful successes for their campaign as quickly as possible.
  • Check in with clients regularly to ensure that they are utilizing Universe, are satisfied with their experience and informed about new features and programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current clients to ensure repeat business
  • Collect testimonials and case studies from organizers using the platform
  • Gather feedback to identify needs, interests and concerns of down-ballot political organizers to develop effective product and marketing strategies
  • Manage account activity and identify opportunities to increase sales and retention
  • Route all client inquiries, questions and support requests to the appropriate team member or department
  • Work with senior management to develop and execute sales and marketing strategies designed to increase revenue
  • Manage the process for client offboarding, contract termination, and post-offboarding feedback and data collection.
  • Lead efforts to foster an organizer-centric team environment

That said, we ask everyone to take at least 20 vacation days per year to recharge and pursue new experiences.
